These ideas were collected in the Fall of 2022 and this part of the project is available for your review only.  

  1. When you consider all the changes/challenges that Alberta has faced over the past three years, what new knowledge were you required to learn and what new structures did you create to address the challenges and changes?
  2. What supports do you need (from CASS or others) to help prepare you for adaptive challenges?

Given the pandemic and the downloading of Health mandates on Alberta School Jurisdictions, we had to learn much more about how to adapt to the many health related changes that often occurred with very little notice. One of the structures we employed to deal with the ever changing direction and impact on schools was a much more frequent use of virtual meetings. At times, we received the information detailing changes to be implemented in schools at the same time as the general public. We had to be prepared to digest information and determine the impact on school operations and then communicate those impacts as quickly as possible to our stakeholders. The work of our communications person has never been as important as it was during those pandemic years.
