Synthesized input from colleagues from past governance learning opportunities identified relationships and engagement as important to address in supporting effective governance.  4 sub themes of this theme are:  foster collaboration and team dynamics, provide clear guidance and support, build relationships, support continuous improvement.   Based on the sub theme you identify as most important, please share how you will take action.   What conditions do you need to establish to ensure success and move forward on the action?

Building relationships is critical in setting the stage to successfully actioning out the other sub themes. Time needs to be continually invested in cultivating the relationships with individual Trustees. Knowing the uniqueness that each trustee brings to the table supports the opportunity for harmony in achieving what’s best for students. Demonstrating a high level of openness in Board meetings and highly effective management practices will aide in building trust and enhancing the relationship between the Board and Sr. Admin. Evidence would be open dialogue between the Board and Admin.
