Sustaining flexible, individualized learning is difficult, especially in small and rural schools
Teacher capacity and burnout with multi-grade, cross-curricular teaching
Need for clearer learning outcomes (e.g., “5 in, 5 out”) and practical structures
Growing interest in project-based learning
Enrollment decline impacting rural school viability
AI as a support tool, with emphasis on staff readiness, ethics, and privacy
Ongoing tension around the role and amount of technology in schools.
