The Regulated Membership Fee is $1,450.00 +gst. An invoice for the membership fee will be issued to the new member.

Regulated Members are presently employed in Alberta as a Superintendent, Deputy Superintendent or a system education leader of public, separate, Francophone or charter school authorities, who has successfully made an election to not be an active member of the Alberta Teachers’ Association, and are excluded from a collective bargaining agreement. Regulated members are also required to possess either a temporary or permanent Superintendent Certificate or as a deputy superintendent or system education leader possess either a temporary or permanent Leadership Certificate. *Leadership and Superintendent Leadership Certification will need to be readily available upon request.

To be eligible for Regulated Membership, you must meet all of the requirements listed below.

Presently employed in Alberta as a Superintendent or Deputy Superintendent, or a system education leader

Has successfully made an election to not be an active member of the Alberta Teachers' Association (meaning that the ATA or the Minister is in receipt of the election)

Excluded from a collective bargaining agreement with the Alberta Teachers’ Association

Has an Alberta Teaching Certificate

Has either a temporary or permanent Superintendent Certificate, or as a deputy superintendent or system education leader, has either a temporary or permanent Leadership Certificate

Is familiar with the the College of Alberta School Superintendents Act (CASS Act)
