Highlights of CASS’ 2022 Annual Learning Conference are now posted! Held face-to-face for the first time since 2019, the conference attracted 265 delegates, representing 95 per cent of Alberta school authorities. Focused on strengthening leadership growth based on Alberta’s professional practice standards, more than 25 system leaders and educational partners stepped up to share their stories of practice on topics informed by role-alike data, emerging provincial trends, and feedback from zones and CASS’ Professional Learning Committee. As revealed through a post-survey, 100 per cent of participants agreed that the conference contributed to their growth as system leaders! In a testament submitted by Northern Gateway’s leadership team, big ideas their members walked away with include:
- We are all in this together; we have structures in place to use.
- We need to make sure connections are strong between what we are doing and what is coming.
- We must share and connect; collaboration and networking are necessary and appreciated.
- Wisdom is in the room, and we must leverage it.
- Being part of this work and this collaborative atmosphere creates a sense of pride.
