System education leaders seeking research-informed, practical approaches to recruitment and retention will find value in a new three-part webinar series hosted by Dr. Edgar Schmidt . Each session draws on findings from the “Education Workforce Study – Teacher and Leader Recruitment and Retention in Alberta” and features school authority presenters sharing effective practices from the field.

This webinar series considers the current research as reported in “Education Workforce Study – Teacher and Leader Recruitment and Retention in Alberta”

The webinars will include not only relevant research findings, but also stories of practice from Alberta school authorities. The school authority presenters will share effective and practical practices related to the recruitment and retention of teachers and school leaders. Participants will have opportunities to discuss, process and consider the tangible actions of school authorities.

By attending this webinar, participants will have the opportunity to:

  • learn about recruitment and retention actions taken by school authorities in Alberta.
  • gain an understanding of the recruitment and retention actions that are effective, as reported by Alberta school authorities.
  • learn about practices from Alberta school authorities that are effective and may be adopted or adapted to participants’ needs.
  • ask questions of the presenters or each other through breakout discussions.
