Webinar Series: Strengthening the Continuum – System Design, Practice, and Partnerships for Student Mental Health and Well-Being
This three-part webinar series supports school authority leaders in strengthening their role in providing a coherent continuum of mental health and well-being supports for children and students.
The series focuses on how school authorities can enhance prevention and promotion of mental well-being, early and short-term intervention, and partnerships that support barrier-free, integrated pathways to, through, and from specialized services.
Across the three sessions, participants will explore how system-level decisions related to design, resourcing, and role clarity shape the effectiveness and sustainability of mental health supports. Through stories of practice from Alberta school authorities, the series highlights practical strategies for aligning system design with daily practice and embedding mental health and well-being within learning environments and system culture.

From Responsibility to Design: Strengthening System Roles in Student Mental Health and Well-Being
This session focuses on the system-level role of school authorities in designing and strengthening a coherent continuum of mental health and well-being supports. Participants will examine how system design can support whole child education through prevention, early intervention, and proactive pathways that reduce reliance on reactive, case-by-case responses.

From Frameworks to Practice: Building Teams, Pathways, and Partnerships for Student Mental Health and Well-Being
This session explores how school authorities operationalize mental health and well-being through intentional system design and community partnerships. Participants will examine how mental health and well-being frameworks can be operationalized through clear service pathways, defined roles, and partnerships that improve access to services, reduce fragmentation of supports, and strengthen coherence between system design and daily practice.

From Intervention to Culture: Embedding Mental Health and Well-Being Throughout the System
This session focuses on how school authorities are purposefully embedding mental health and well-being within learning environments and system culture, rather than treating mental health as a separate or reactive service. Participants will examine how mental health and well-being can be embedded within learning frameworks, teaching and leadership practice, and system culture through coherent pathways, shared language, leadership commitment, and professional learning.
