Must be current, must be focused on the agendas of the province and the division, and must be pragmatic/applicable.

Tied to the competencies and the standards.... should touch on all of them
Would also like this to be contextualized... Ex: If your focus is inclusion=, can you contextualize the quality indicators and/or standards to this role
Or, what if you wanted to spend one year really focused on one (or two) standard(s), could this be an option....
How to target the people and the resources... more choice means fewer resources... maybe it could be a rotating 4-year program where year 1 you focus on a few standards (with some choice within) and then year 2 would focus on a few different standards, etc. By the end off the 4 years you will then have completed all of the choice menus. As this gets built out, then there would be more and more choices. What is the average length of a CASS membership - this would influence the rotation. Also government initiatives, may influence some of the content (content vs practice... practice does not necessarily change as fast). Maybe "Content' is more online and "practice" is more in person?
Possible Components:
- ex serving as a mentor
- completing a mentorship
- options re: formats, some online options, some in person options
Human Resources: How do we continue to support the human side of education, while maintaining standard and expectations?
Data Collection/ Evaluation: Do we have the understanding, knowledge and ABILITY to collect data in order to evaluate and plan next best steps realted to distirct Assurance priorities? ie: Is early childhood funsung and services having an impact on student success?
- must link to LQS and SLQS
-legal and emerging issues
-engaging and practical- no sit and get- deliver professional learning in innovative ways that align with how we would expect teachers to deliver to their students
Topics and components that are framed in a theory of action framework: How will our learning impact school leaders, to impact teaching, to impact student growth and learning?
Should focus on the role alike groups.
align with current trends
Aling with Alberta education.
Anything that supports the role specific responsibilities
Access to new ideas that may include trends and technologies
Role specific learning
Practical application of topics
Explicit focus on targeted SLQS/LQS competencies. Too often we talk about initiatives involving skill in multiple competencies, but we need to drill down on the essence of the competency in isolation to truly understand it.
