There is no better way to enhance the leader within than to do so through learning in new ways and with colleagues who embrace the common cause of system education leadership. Registration is still open for our Annual Learning Conference, scheduled for March 19-21, 2025, at the Fantasyland Hotel in Edmonton, located on Treaty 6 Territory. This pinnacle event for learning offers all delegates an invaluable opportunity to deepen their understanding and enhance professional practice in alignment with the Superintendent Leadership Quality Standard (SLQS) and the Leadership Quality Standard (LQS).
Here are some conference highlights and important registration details:
Pre-Conference Continuing Education Program (CEP) Courses: On March 19, participants can take part in specialized courses such as “Visionary Leadership in Action: Implementing a Continuum of Supports and Services” and “Leading to Support Effective Governance.” These hybrid sessions combine in-person and online learning, offering a robust professional development experience. Additionally, they provide a pathway to meeting course accreditation requirements within the current five-year completion timeframe. When registering for these courses, please note the required online learning dates posted on the conference website that will follow the in-person learning.
Community of Practice Sessions (CoPs): On Wednesday evening, during the conference opening, CoPs will be available with enhanced guided support and a structured registration process. This approach gives members time to select the CoP that best aligns with their interests and professional goals. Visit the conference website to explore table groupings and ensure your selection aligns with your interests before registering.
31 Breakout Session Options: The conference will feature expert facilitators from across the province, offering a variety of session lengths – half day, two-hour, one-and-a-half hour, and one-hour options. Topics will include effective governance, visionary leadership, artificial intelligence, leveraging data, emerging research, and supporting the application of foundational knowledge about First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, among others. Attendees can look forward to engaging in interactive workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, all designed to foster collaboration and innovation in educational leadership.
